30 years where tech, finance and customer service meet
My name is Kristian Midell. For the past 30 years I've worked in every part of technical operations and customer service — from support at giants like Apple and Cisco, to monitoring server farms for HP, to compliance and anti-money laundering (AML) in banking.
I know what it takes to build and scale a support department from scratch. As a manager I've run customer service teams for startups, and as a supervisor on international projects I've had operational responsibility for up to 200 agents on shift.
I also know extreme volume first-hand. As a senior agent I personally closed more than 5,000 tickets in one month, and single-handedly cleared almost 70% of an entire team's queue. I know what it's like to handle everything from simple shipping questions to complex invoicing flows and risk assessments.
Why Alfredium came to be
My background is rare in this industry: I'm a certified IT technician and system administrator at heart, but I've spent half my career in direct dialogue with customers. I understand both how the machines think and what customers expect.
Every day I see startups and established companies struggling with exactly the same thing. Customer service is everything – no business survives without solid follow-up before, during and after a sale. Customers expect buying advice, crystal-clear product information, accurate delivery times, an answer to “where is my order?” and smooth handling if something is wrong with the product.
When you give them fast, precise answers, something decisive happens: one-time buyers become loyal regulars, and your reputation grows. Internally, stress goes down, the backlog disappears and wrong answers drop drastically.
Alfredium was born to deliver exactly this. I sat in the queues myself, looked at the outdated technology and thought: “A machine should take the heavy lifting here — but a human still needs to be at the helm.” So I built the system I dreamed of when the backlog was boiling. Not as an experiment, but from the ground up, by someone who knows exactly where the traps are.
I'm Norwegian by birth, fluent in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and English. I've lived in Thailand since 2017. From here I run global operations on Nordic hours — a mix of local precision and borderless technology.
